About Jamie

Jamie Morgan, MS, BCBA | Special Education Advocate + Behavior Analyst

Jamie Morgan is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who has been working in the field of special education for approximately 15 years.

Upon graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2007, Jamie began working at an elementary school providing 1:1 and small group support to a variety of children with IEPs. During this time, she enrolled in graduate school and received a Masters of Science degree in School Counseling. After moving from Connecticut to California in 2014, Jamie started working at FirstSteps For Kids, an agency that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. She enrolled in courses to learn more about ABA and autism, and in 2017 became a BCBA and Program Director. After her time at FirstSteps, Jamie began working as a Behavior Analyst for a local school district. While working for the district, she became increasingly familiar with and passionate about the IEP process. With a desire to help parents learn more about behavior and advocate for their children’s needs, Jamie transitioned from the school district to working as a Parenting Specialist for a telehealth platform focused on children’s mental health. In this role, Jamie has worked with many families to help support their children across home and school settings.

Jamie’s experience in both clinical and school settings has allowed her to gain unique insight into the IEP process from a variety of lenses. She values a collaborative approach; working together as a team to ensure each child receives the individualized support they need and deserve.

Jamie is a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA). She completed COPAA Special Education and Advocacy Training (SEAT) 1.0, and is currently enrolled in SEAT 2.0.

Jamie currently resides in the South Bay. She enjoys spending her time with family and friends, being outdoors and staying active (swimming, tennis, biking, etc.), traveling and exploring, and playing trivia.
